Argan Oil Analysis

Argan oil is produced exclusively in Morocco. It is generally used in Europe as an ingredient in cosmetic products. However, there is also a toasted argan oil, traditionally used in Moroccan cuisine. For cosmetic or food-grade argan oils (toasted or roasted), the physicochemical parameters must comply with the standard NM 08.5.090. This includes acid values, peroxide values, and UV measurements at 264 and 276 nm. The laboratory conducts these analyses and provides you with reports on the compliance of your oils. In case of doubt about the origin of the oil (poor traceability), it is possible to authenticate the oil by analyzing the fatty acids using chromatographic methods.
