La Raison D'Hêtre 2020 75cl - AOC Côtes de Castillon

History: A tiny Castillon estate owned by Jacques Thienpoint, located in the extension of L'If, not far from Troplong Mondot or behind the Tertre de La Mouleyre. Very old vines, always organic, with limestone and clay, the best terroir. Cabernet Franc is the reference here. A competitor of Clos Louie and Domaine de L'A. A truly grand entrance for Jacques into Castillon. Grapes: 100% Merlot Vinification: Temperature-controlled concrete tanks Aging: 5% new barrels, 47.5% one-wine barrels, 47.5% two-wine barrels Tasting: This is a wine with a lot of character and spice; it is peppery and fresh on the nose with a lovely attack of black fruits and licorice. On the palate, the texture is creamy, with good volume and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long with a spicy and chocolaty flavor.
