Cranberry Oil

Native cranberry oil (in German: Kranbeeren- oder Moosbeerensamenöl) is a dark yellow to greenish oil that has a subtle nutty scent. The name cranberry comes from the beak-shaped form of the slender flower, which resembles a crane's head. The German lingonberry is a relative of the cranberry. Therefore, the term lingonberry seed oil is often found in the cosmetics industry. The plant belongs to the family of heath plants, an evergreen dwarf shrub native to North America and Canada. The berries are red, cherry-sized fruits with four air chambers that contain the seeds. The flowering occurs in June, and the harvest takes place from September to October.
