Buffer Container A buffer container allows for the rapid emptying of the spent grains from the lauter tun using a screw in the attached conveyor. This way, the lauter tun can be immediately refilled with the next brew while the buffer container is continuously emptied. Pneumatic Conveying Systems The wet spent grains are pneumatically conveyed (plug conveying) from the buffer container to a wet grain silo (truck loading system) or a new buffer container before being fed into a screw press and a grain dryer (tube bundle dryer). Storage The buffer container before the screw press enables the continuous operation of the press and dryer. After the drying process, the spent grains are fed into a silo, from where they can be bagged or directly loaded onto trucks. To reduce the volume for transport, a pelletizing system can also be used beforehand.
