Litz Wire - Assembly of Enamelled Copper Wires

Litz wire for high-frequency applications. Composed of a combination of enameled copper wires, grade 1 or 2, with or without lapping, as requested. Used in high-frequency current transport applications, Litz wires are constructed with small diameter enameled copper wires (0.04 mm to 5 mm), electrically insulated and braided together to reduce the "skin effect" losses generated by opposing electromagnetic currents (Eddy currents). Additionally, at low frequencies, this phenomenon is considered negligible, although some energy conversion specialists believe that losses become evident even at low frequencies.
