Glass bead blasting, a silk matte polish

Glass beads are a mineral fine blasting medium used for surface cleaning and finishing. We specifically use glass beads for workpieces made of stainless steel and non-ferrous metals when surfaces need to be treated very gently. This blasting process reduces the tensile stress of weld seams and hardens the surface. This is why it is also referred to as hardening blasting. The polishing effect of the glass beads removes residues such as machining marks and heat discoloration. The result is a uniformly satin matte appearance. Additionally, glass bead blasting typically extends the service life and is an environmentally friendly alternative to pickling. We also use this blasting technique in part for classic car restoration.
