Self-tapping Inserts - THREADED INSERTS

The external thread of the SPIROL self-tapping insert forms an internal thread in a molded or pre-drilled hole during the installation process in a plastic assembly. The SPIROL series 10 self-tapping inserts are thread inserts that are best suited for softer thermoplastics or thermosetting plastics. Self-tapping inserts provide the best pull-out resistance for an insert installed after molding, but they generally cost more than their post-molding counterparts. The external threads are designed with a fine profile to minimize induced stresses in the plastic and have a relatively coarse pitch to provide maximum shear surface in the plastic to resist pull-out.
