All ELATECH and ELA-flex SDTM polyurethane timing belts can be equipped with drive lugs for transport, handling, and positioning applications. Classification of Lugs It is recommended to adjust the lug spacing to the belt pitch. It can also be a multiple of the belt pitch, which minimizes the tolerance of the lug spacing. Position of Lugs The lug position can be aligned with a tooth or a tooth gap. The best flexibility is achieved when positioned against a tooth. Tolerances The tolerance of the welding position is +/- 0.5 mm. During the welding process, a weld bead of approximately 0.5 - 1 mm forms at the contact point with the belt back. This bead can be mechanically removed if necessary.
