SILCAREF – Lightweight fire bricks are manufactured using the extrusion process. They have a low iron oxide content and are resistant in carbon monoxide-containing atmospheres. These bricks are suitable for furnaces and thermal engineering systems, particularly for continuously operated systems. The lightweight fire bricks can be used both in the rear insulation and in the front layer. When used in the front, corrosive stress should be avoided, and mechanical load should be kept low. In addition to standard commercial formats, cut pieces (e.g., arches) can be made from these formats. When cutting arches, the dimensions of the standard formats are not followed. Therefore, any desired diameter can be produced from a single format, which facilitates assembly and minimizes waste.
