The rivet is a plastically deformable fastening element used for riveting flat material parts (e.g., sheets, plastic parts). Riveting creates a form-fitting connection between multiple components. Holes must be made in the components to be joined, which should be slightly larger in diameter than the rivet. The rivet is inserted through these components so that it protrudes slightly. The opposite side is then shaped into a head using, for example, a hammer, which securely connects the components. Rivets are not standardized elements.
