For our client in the automotive industry, we produce deep-drawn pots made of stainless steel with an integrated axle as a monoblock component. These are used in water pumps for electric vehicles. Our client from the automotive sector requires pots with an integrated axle that accommodates a rotor. Until now, the pot and axle were centered and connected through welding. The client's wish was to manufacture a single-piece component to avoid welding. Deep drawing is the ideal technology for this purpose. The size of the component required larger presses than were previously available. Therefore, we initially developed tools as prototypes for larger presses at the client's request. After practical tests both with the client and the end customer, our client decided on a tool that is ideally suited for the series production of the component.
