Certified Translations

Sworn translation, or certified translation, is a type of translation carried out by a certified translator who is sworn in before a Court of Appeal or, under certain conditions, by a sworn translator before a High Court depending on the destination country of the certified document. Sworn translation pertains to legal and official documents; it is intended for administrations, tenders, and may be necessary for obtaining visas, or for other procedures related to establishing oneself abroad, for example. The sworn expert translator is a natural person listed on a roster of judicial experts established by a special commission that generally meets once a year in the Courts of Appeal in France. The certified translator is listed on the CEDESA roster established by the Public Prosecutor of each High Court.
