This kitchen fire blanket complies with the European standard EN 1869:1997, marked "DE EN 1869:1997" by TüV (a German inspection body working on product validation/certification). EUROPEAN STANDARD EN 1869:1997: this standard stipulates that the fire blanket must be able to withstand temperatures of approximately 900°C caused by ignited oils (such as soybean or rapeseed oil) + the electrical resistance of the blanket must not be less than 1 Ohm.
