Closed, external ventilation Squirrel cage rotor Brake groups in both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) All series are available as self-braking ELMOR® motors from all series, both single-phase and three-phase, are available in the "self-braking" version. In this case, the motor is equipped, at the rear, with an electromagnetic brake group with spring pressure and negative action, which allows for both the almost instantaneous stop of the rotor (see tables) and its stationary position. The brake group is fixed to the motor through a rear cast iron flange (on all models) that ensures the sealing of all braking torques. The shafts of the self-braking motors are made of high-strength steel to prevent the failure of the rear key for driving the brake hub.
