Alicante Red Marble

Red Alicante marble is a marble stone originating from Spain's Alicante region, dating back to the Eocene period. Like its cousin, Black Marquina, Red Alicante also features beautiful white veins that contrast with its background color. It is composed of very fine micritic grains in colors ranging from reddish-yellow, reddish-brown to intense red, always accompanied by some white calcite veins as well as white fossils. The background is not completely uniform but rather cloudy around the veins, which adds life and depth. This red marble comes from one of the oldest quarries in Spain, which unfortunately is not inexhaustible. Due to its popularity, Red Alicante is at risk of becoming increasingly rare in the near future. It has long been used by interior architects to bring warmth to your interiors.
