For the surface treatment of primarily metallic workpieces, vibratory finishing (also known as tumbling) is used as a non-cutting process. It has proven to be a particularly efficient method of surface finishing. Together with chips (vibratory finishing media) and usually an additive in aqueous solution (compound), the workpieces to be processed are placed in a container. Through a rotating or oscillating movement of this working container, a relative motion is created between the workpiece and the chip, which causes material removal from the workpiece, especially at its edges. The vibratory finishing media are produced in various shapes, sizes, and materials and are used according to the characteristics of the parts to be processed. By using vibratory finishing machines in various sizes and dimensions, we are able to process parts made of steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and die-cast.
