Due to their flake-like structure, the material exhibits anisotropic thermal conductivities in the plane of the film (x-y plane) and perpendicular to it (z-direction). Because of their composition, the films adapt very well to the contact surfaces, optimizing thermal contact. This minimizes the overall thermal interface resistance. With a very low density (15% of copper, 50% of aluminum), the materials are particularly suitable for applications with high weight requirements.
