Steel wall sleeves are typically installed in ceilings, walls, or floor slabs during the formwork process. They are designed to accommodate sealing inserts for pipe or cable penetrations. If the requirements regarding corrosion resistance are less stringent, wall sleeves are also used in galvanized or simpler black versions for cost reasons. To provide additional protection against potential liquid penetration (possibly due to future building settlement) caused by capillary action, wall sleeves are often equipped with a seamlessly welded flange ring.
