JINKOA LIQUEURS - Liqueurs and Spirits

The latest addition to our range, the Jinkoa Egiazki, with its exotic flavors, is as artisanal and local as all our liqueurs. For a bit of history, about thirty years ago, many producers planted Feijoa in the Basque Country. Two factors contributed to this: subsidies granted by the state and a significant trend effect. Today, there are only three producers left in St Pée sur Nivelle, and they are the ones who came up with the idea for this drink. Thus, this liqueur was created in close collaboration with them. The feijoa, "feijoa sellowiana," is a very powerful yet little-known fruit, a fruit tree from the myrtle family, native to South America (Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay). Introduced to France in the 20th century by Edmond André, it is also known as the Brazilian guava or Montevideo guava. The fruit is an exotic berry, shaped like a small avocado, measuring 2 to 8 cm long, harvested at the end of autumn when it begins to turn yellow.
