In simultaneous interpreting, the speaker's spoken text is translated into the target language in real-time. The interpreter sits in a booth and speaks through a technical system into the headphones of the conference participants. Since this type of interpreting requires not only full concentration but also a lot of physical effort from the interpreter, two interpreters usually take turns every 15 to 30 minutes.
